University of Pretoria Head Coach Maude Khumalo sharing her views on the match last week against Copperbelt and also preparations for the match against TS Galaxy
Talk about the match against Copperbelt she said , “They were pressing us high, and we could not respond quickly as our shifting and the movement of the ball was not on point. We had too many gaps in the middle of the park because our midfielders were losing shape. Even when we had the ball, there was not enough support when we played the ball to our attackers.”
“After they scored the goals that we have given them, we were losing possession. We win the ball. We don’t stay calm on the ball. We just clear it. We were not pressing at the right moment and in the right areas.
Pretoria University lost 2-1 to Copperbelt, and today at 11H30, they play against TS Galaxy.
Coach Maud Khumalo had this to say, ” It is another tough game, with a lot of experienced players at TS Galaxy. The players that I have can compete. It is more of us being disciplined in our possessions, being compact, and communicating more. The preparation has been good. Tactical discipline and movement of the ball, as well as being patient when we are in positions, was the focus. We are not going to take the game lightly they lost, and we also lost. Both teams need to win at all costs. It’s a game we are going to need to work hard.
